Smart Energy Fundraising Campaign for Ukraine Rehabilitation Centre for Children

Smart Energy Fundraising Campaign for Ukraine Rehabilitation Centre for Children

smartEn is looking to raise 15,000 Euros for the Chortkiv rehabilitation centre for disabled children. The centre was opened in July 2023 in a repurposed former historic manor which will be transformed into a smart and prosumer building. By doing so, the community aims to provide a comfortable, safe, and secure environment for the children whilst demonstrating the value of an efficient, smart, prosumer building to similar projects around Ukraine.

Who will benefit?
The rehabilitation centre currently assists 18 children aged 4-16, although there are over 155 children with disabilities on the Chortkiv community register. The centre aims to improve the quality of life of children with disabilities through comprehensive rehabilitation while creating opportunities for their social and independent integration. Energy independence for the centre will ensure that, despite the instability caused by Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, the centre’s activities can continue as a result of the energy security, savings, comfort and visibility.

What will be done with the 15,000 Euros?
All funds will go to the Chortkiv rehabilitation centre for disabled children. The funds will be used to purchase a range of technical solutions for the building, namely, 18 solar panels, 3 batteries, 4 inverters and a range of accompanying products such as cables, connectors, and smart meters. These items are in addition to already purchased and installed items including insulation, LED lighting and energy efficient windows and doors. The whole project will be documented, and results will be presented after completion.

What can you do?
smartEn members are warmly invited to contribute to this great cause with an amount of your choice. The targeted amount can be easily reached if all members contribute with a small, collective effort. We aim to achieve our goal by the end of October in order to provide the necessary resources ASAP, as a matter of urgency, and start the refurbishment works before the winter period.
