Digital Event | How can Energy Communities contribute to Local System Efficiency?

15 January 2022 | 11.00-12.05 CET | Register now!

As stated in the recent State of the Energy Union report , at least 2 million people in the EU are already involved with more than 7700 energy communities, and the engagement is on the rise. They have also contributed up to 7% of nationally installed capacities of renewables, estimated at 6.3 GW.

Many activities in which energy communities can participate do not require them to be close to one another. However, for providing services to the local grid, location and proximity matter a great deal. By using the local grid as efficiently as possible, this will allow for the greatest number of new DERs to be connected, while delaying grid reinforcements for as long as possible. In this webinar, we will take a closer look at business models where energy communities can contribute to local system efficiency, and the factors that can enable these business models.
