The European Commission has plans to facilitate flexibility service providers’ access to European markets by shedding light on national procedures on accessing data for demand response. Harmonisation of data formats used by system operators for the operation of wholesale, balancing and congestion markets is essential to ensure that flexibility service providers can access those markets cost-effectively and can adequately pass financial benefits of market participation onto end consumers. smartEn calls upon the European Commission to launch this process in the context of the preparation of the Implementing Regulation on access to data and interoperability for demand response.
